EFP European Film Promotion has announced 20 films nominated for the 2026 Latin American Critics’ Award for European Films, now in its third edition. The films, submitted by national film promotion institutes across Europe, include premieres from top festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, and Sundance, showcasing the diversity of contemporary European cinema.
The lineup features films like BLUM: MASTERS OF THEIR OWN DESTINY by Jasmila Žbanić (Bosnia and Herzegovina; nominated by the Association of Filmmakers in BiH), among others. A jury of 35 critics from 13 Latin American countries will select three finalists, with the winner announced at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in April 2026.
Launched in 2024, the award highlights the role of critics in promoting arthouse cinema and strengthens professional ties between Europe and Latin America.
