Minor Bosnian co-production STITCHES directed by Miroslav Terzić will be screened in Panorama program of 69th Berlinale Film Festival. This film was written by Bosnian and Herzegovinian scriptwriter Elma Tataragić and Bosnian co-producer company is SCCA/Pro.ba.
STITCHES combines elements of thriller and melodrama, and deals with the story of newborn babies abducted from hospitals, which has been a hot social issue in Serbia and the region recently. The film brings the story of woman who firmly believes that her baby-son was stolen from her more than 17 years ago, while she was told that her baby died. The main caracter is played by Serbian acctress Snežana Bogdanović.
STITCHES will not be the only film written by Bosnian and Herzegovinian scriptwriter to be screenes at this year’s Berlinale. Macedonian film GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PETRUNIJA, that she also wrote script for, is selected for this year's Berlinale Competition program. The film is directed by Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska. These two authors already collaborated in 2017 on also very successful film WHEN THE DAY HAD NO NAME. GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PETRUNIJA was made in co-production of Macedonia, Belgium, France, Croatia and Slovenia. Film tells almost comical story that shows the absurdities of the contemporary world, focusing on a day in the life of Petrunija, a single, unemployed, 31-year-old woman, who decides to do the unthinkable and intervene in the world of men.
Short film selection will screen two Bosnian and Herzegovinian films: CAN'T YOU SEE THEM? – REPEAT by Clarissa Thieme and RED RUBBER BOOTS (Out of competition) from 2000 by Jasmila Žbanić. Also, the same program selected French film OMARSKA by Varun Sasindra that was edited by Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts student Sajra Subašić.

CAN'T YOU SEE THEM? – REPEAT by Clarissa Thieme as installation with video will be presented at Berlinale Forum Expanded exhibition.
We would also like to remind you that the winner of First European Film Challenge in Bosnia and Herzegovina Krstina Majstorović will visit this edition of Belinale, while the Association of Filmmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced the begging of the new challenge where the winner will be visiting next edition of Cannes Film Festival.
