ALEKSANDAR JEVĐEVIĆ

Born in 1937 in Sokolac, Bosnia-Herzegovina. He graduated in Yugoslav literature and language from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. In 1961, he started working as a television director for Television Sarajevo. He directed several popular music television programs, including ENTENTINU, DON’T STARE SO ROMANTICALLY, DRESS REHEARSAL and QUEEN OF SPADES. He began directing films in 1969 when he directed TO, the first television movie produced by Television Sarajevo, based on the screenplay by Alija Isaković. He directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, as well as eight TV movies and series. He directed only one fiction feature film, MY BROTHER ALEKSA, which won the Jury Award of the 5th Rueil-Malmaison Film Festival in Paris, France. From 1993 until his death he worked as the professor of acting at the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts. He died in 2006.
