Synopsis:

Film about Popovo Polje, the large karst plain in Bosnia-Herzegovina that is regularly flooded by Trebišnjica, the longest sinking river in Europe. For one part of the year, Popovo Polje is a dry, demanding expanse of land, cracked by the harsh Herzegovina sun, but then it gets flooded by the river and turns into a huge, useless lake. People stubbornly hold onto this piece of land, struggling to grow corn and irrigate their crop so as to secure three summer harvests, waiting for a dam to be built to put the river under control.
