At the end of World War II, the Spreča River valley and villages in the foothills of the Konjuh Mountain were considered the least developed part of Bosnia-Herzegovina. After the war, this region started transforming through industrialization and making of a man-made body of water - Lake Modrac. The changes were not always readily accepted by the local people who opposed the idea to flood their old inter-village roads. But in the end, the villagers realized that the building of the lake had ushered prosperity and progress which they need to embrace.
