Toward the end of World War II, Sarajevo - where the shots that triggered World War I were fired - became a strategically important outpost of the German Nazi forces in the Balkans. Valter Defends Sarajevo is an exciting, spy action movie about the partisan resistance movement in the city and its leader Vladimir Peric Valter. In late 1944, Nazi General Lohr’s Army Group E hurries to withdraw from the Balkans and return to Germany to help the defense of their homeland. Nazi intelligence is secretly preparing the operation Laufer that involves supplying the withdrawing troops with fuel from a depot in Sarajevo. Valter and his resistance fighters in Sarajevo must discover the details and purpose of operation Laufer and disrupt it. However, a Gestapo operative successfully infiltrates the resistance movement under the guise of Valter himself. But real Valter successfully reveals the Gestapo’s intentions, identifies the Nazi spies and disrupts operation Laufer.
