MARIJA PIKIĆ was born in 1989 in Trebinje. She is Bosnian theatre, film and television actress. She graduated acting from Banja Luka Academy of Arts. Her career started on the very beginning of the studies when she got her first screen role in THE ENEMY by Dejan Zečević. Since then the followed opportunities brought her more work in front of the camera and she made significant roles in film and television industry which have brought her many awards and recognitions. With CHILDREN OF SARAJEVO by Aida Begić she has experienced a breakthrough and success. The film won special jury award in Un Certain Regard selection, Festival De Cannes in 2012 and among many she received Heart of Sarajevo Award for the Best Actress at Sarajevo Film Festival 2012 for leading role in the film. Also, she won Best Actress Award at 12th Mediterranean Film Festival of Brussels, Belgium in 2012 and The Angela Award, Subtitle European Film Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland 2013. She realized important main roles in the movies With Mom (2013), Sisyphus K. (2015) and current Flesh (2018), collaborating with highly respected Bosnian and regional directors and actors. Also, she is well known to a regional audience from highly popular TV sitcoms such as Lud, zbunjen, normalan; Kriza and Konak kod Hilmije.
