FARUK LONČAREVIĆ was born in 1975 in Sarajevo. He is film and theatre director and a professor of History of Film at the Academy of Performing Arts. He is both active in Bosnia and Indonesia, where he has attended post graduate studies in traditional theatre and made a dozen documentaries. His debut MUM 'N' DAD has won the Special Jury Prize at the Sarajevo Film Festival and had its international opening at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2007 and at the Art Film Festival Trencien, Slovakia it won the award for the Best East European film. His second feature WITH MOM won CineEurope award in Sarajevo Film Festival and was in dozens of festivals around the world. It is Bosnian candidate for Academy Award. His third feature SO SHE DOESN'T LIVE has won Special Jury Mention at Trieste Film Festival and Paloma del Oro for the best film on Valencia Mediterranean Film Festival in 2021, as well as Golden Umbrella for the best film on Balkan Panorama Film Festival in Izmir in 2022. He is a member of the European Film Academy.
