Fondacija za kinematografiju Sarajevo

Fondacija za kinematografiju (Film Fund) was established by the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2002 and since then it has been operating within the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Federation of BiH with an aim to provide financial support for development of cinema in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Besides the partial financing of the production of feature films, shorts and documentaries, it also gives significant support for film promotion and distribution, additional education of filmmakers and supports film festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fondacija za kinematografiju is the only public body in BiH specialized in cinema and filmmaking, and it operates as an umbrella institution for this industrial and artistic branch.

Film Center of Republic of Srpska

Film Center of Republic of Srpska was founded in 2009 by the Government of Republic of Srpska with the aim to support the production and promotion of films in Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Film Center Sarajevo

Film Center Sarajevo is a public company for film production and distribution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded by Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of its strategical goals is to become the basis for future successful development of BiH cinema. Film Center Sarajevo has a collection of 80 feature films and over 500 documentaries and short films. Film Center’s Archive is home to the films which have been produced by Bosna Film, Studio Film, and Sutjeska Film in former Yugoslavia. Some are of major significance for the cinema of Bosnia and Herzegovina and they have achieved notable success on international film festivals (DO YOU REMEMBER DOLLY BELL by Emir Kusturica, WALTER DEFENDS SARAJEVO by Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac, THE BATTLE OF NERETVA by Veljko Bulajić, BLACK PEARLS by Tomo Janjić, PICTURES FROM THE LIFE OF SHOCK FORCE WORKERS by Bahrudin Čengić, THE TWO HALVES OF THE HEART by Vefik Hadžismajlović, etc).

The National Film Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The film collection of the Film Archive of BiH consists of the national collection of feature, short, documentary films and film materials, and the collection of international features. The depot of the Film Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina contains 902 sound copies including the first BiH sound short film from 1936 LOVE IN SARAJEVO by Nikola Drakulić and Edo Ljubić. The national collection contains journals, documentary, short feature, animated and feature films. There is a large quantity of film materials concerning national film: synopsises, screenplays, filming books, dialogue and subtitles list, and, in particular, valuable photographs from films, behind the scenes stills of preparations and filming, albums, catalogues. Digitalized posters of BiH films form the special parts of the collection. The Film Archive is successfully collaborating with FIAF (International Film Archive Association).

Association of Cinematographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Association of Cinematographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina is an association of professional film and television workers who belong to the camera sector. The aims of the association are: development of collaboration within the sector, improvement of conditions and quality of work, perseverance of certain film professions and promotion of film as an art form. Association was founded on the initiative of cinematographers and collaborators from entire Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Association of Directors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Association of Directors in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a professional organization representing the interests of film, theatre, television and radio directors in BiH and actively taking part in the enhancement of cultural production in the country. The Association’s activities are primarily directed towards realizing goals such as the strengthening of directors’ professional status, protecting and improving their freedom of artistic creation, affirming their work within community and improving BH cultural policies.
