NIKOLA STOJANOVIĆ

Born in 1942 in Dušanovo, Serbia. He graduated in architecture and urban planning from the Sarajevo University in 1962. From 1964 until 1967, he was a member of the Sarajevo Amateur Film Club and an amateur filmmaker. He switched to professional filmmaking in 1969 when he directed short fiction film IN THE KITCHEN (Sutjeska Film). The film received a Special Recognition for Direction at the 1969 Belgrade Film Festival. He directed his first narrative feature film, DEAR IRENA, in 1970. The film received the Best Debut Film Award presented by magazine Studio at the 1970 Pula Film Festival. In 1974, he completed POLLEN DUST which was awarded at festivals in Zagreb, Pula and Niš. All of his narrative feature films were based on his own screenplays. As a member of the Sarajevo Amateur Film Club he was one of the co-founders of the film magazine Sinaest.
