MAJHROVSKI PJER

Born in 1924 in Sanski Most, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Prior to starting his career in film in September 1947, he completed a degree in architecture and civil engineering. Already in 1947, he directed parts of Bosna Film’s monthly newsreel. He directed, and in most cases also scripted, over 100 different television films and programs. In 1958, he completed his first feature film, NIGHTS AND DAYS, based on a screenplay by Meša Selimović. In addition to his work as film director and author, Majhrovski greatly contributed to the establishment and development of regional film production. He made the first color film in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1954 EMBROIDERY ARTIST’S DREAMS, based on a script by Katarina Rundo). He died in 1982 in Sarajevo.
