For the third year Association of Filmmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Meeting Point Cinema are organizing screening to celebrate International Short Film Day. This year’s screening is scheduled for December 21st at 8 PM.

Rich in artistic expression and limited only by their duration, short films overcome traditional forms of filmmaking, and are important and original way for young authors to bond with their audience. They are also important part of filmmaking, storytelling and culture in general. Around 20 short films are produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina every year and half of these films are student films produced in film schools and academies. Bosnian and Herzegovinian short films are screened at film festivals worldwide and continue represent our country in the best possible way.

As well as the past two years, this year International Short Film Day screening will present most recent short films by Bosnian and Herzegovinian young authors. Film
INVISIBLE by Amra Mehić was premiered in BH. Film program of this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival and was also in main competition program at Zagreb Film Festival. LEJLA by Stijin Bouma, director from Netherlands, was produced by Sarajevo Film Academy and was also screened at Sarajevo Film Festival after it has world Premiere in Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation program. Graduation film CLEAN by Neven Samardžić has won Best Student Film Award at this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival and film ELEPHANT by Ado Hasanović, made in Bosnian-Italian co-production has recently won Sentieri di Cinema at 14th Corto Dorico Film Festival in Ankona.
