Macedonian film GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PETRUNIJA is selected for this year's Berlinale Competition program as the only film from former Yugoslavia. The film is directed by Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska and script was written by our scriptwriter Elma Tataragić. These two authors already collaborated in 2017 on also very successful film WHEN THE DAY HAD NO NAME.
GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PETRUNIJA was made in co-production of Macedonia, Belgium, France, Croatia and Slovenia. Film tells almost comical story that shows the absurdities of the contemporary world, focusing on a day in the life of Petrunija, a single, unemployed, 31-year-old woman, who decides to do the unthinkable and intervene in the world of men.
This film written by our screenwriter Elma Tataragić will compete for the prestigious Golden Bear Award among with the films directed by Fatih Akin, Hans Petter Moland, Agnès Varda etc.
