Synopsis:

In December 1959, severe weather swept over Bosnia-Herzegovina brining heavy rains that left some parts of the country in complete isolation. Rising rivers submerged entire villages, towns and farms. People from the worst affected areas were forced to abandon their homes. Soldiers of the Yugoslav People’s Army were the first to respond to flood situations across the country in order to rescue people and then also to deliver food, clothes and medicines. When rainfall had finally stopped at the end of December, receding rivers left widespread ruin in their wake.
