Synopsis:

In the summer of 1942, 3,500 partisan soldiers were defending their stronghold at Mount Kozara. With them, they had 80,000 refugees, mostly women and children, as well as 600 injured comrades. Partisans fought many fierce battles for the defense of the mountain. One of their commanders, who formerly fought in the Spanish civil war, Vukša, and his unit, came to symbolize the partisans’ bravery. Many partisans meet their heroic deaths, but resistance continues as civilians take up arms and join the fight. Simple villager Šorga has lost everything and everyone he loved in the war. His only surviving relative is a small boy whom he carries in a bag on his back. Šorga and the boy manage to survive all the battles and break through the enemy siege of the mountain. Kozara is an epic story about the courage and resistance of the partisans and refugees who had joined their ranks.
