Synopsis:

War orphans live in an old monastery under the watchful eye of a headmaster. One day, a blond boy – the son of a killed Nazi officer - arrives in the orphanage. The headmaster conceals the fact that the boy’s parents were Nazis from other children whose parents had been killed by the Germans. However, the blond boy fails to fit in for he cannot stomach the cruel war games of other children. Therefore, other children soon become suspicious of him. One day, the blond boy decides to play the harmonica for the amusement of other children. But the only melody he knows to play on the harmonica is a German marching song. Upon hearing it, other boys discover his real identity and decide to punish him.
